The work of Dr. Janet King, an internationally recognized nutrition scientist, has profoundly influenced our understanding of both adult and infant health. Her research has led to the establishment of new guidelines for healthful weight gain during pregnancy and new recommendations for daily zinc intake. She served as director of the ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Center in Davis, Calif. until 2003. For more information on Dr. King, visit the ARS Science Hall of Fame.
